Kirsty Tallowin's daughter's bedroom

Kirsty Tallowin runs Staying in Studio, an English homeware brand, from her countryside home. She crafts many of the items for sale by hand and she has a natural eye for all things interiors. We spoke with her about designing her daughter's stunning bedroom, featuring our Rose bed.
How did the interior come together for your daughter’s bedroom?

 My daughter and I knew we wanted the room to feature blue and to incorporate a warm cream wall colour.  Once we added the Rose bed from Button & Sprung we started looking for vintage  wooden furniture to contrast against it. Dark wood, alongside the blue headboard really set it off. We finished the look with some cute art and pretty gingham bedding.
Why did you choose the Rose bed?

 It adds so much warmth to the room making it feel luxurious, yet cosy.  It's such a beautiful feature that gets many compliments.
Be inspired by Kirsty's style:  
 Any tips on how to clash prints, pattern and colour successfully?

 Don't be afraid of mixing bold patterns with delicate prints. Small florals are my go to as they add a sense of texture. Contrast a ditsy, even twee print against a clashing stripe to create a unique interior space.
Where’s your favourite place to snap up unique interior finds?

  I'm a huge fan of Facebook Marketplace. If there is something you are looking for never give up searching as something similar will be out there—you just need to be patient. 

I am also lucky enough to sell items in my interiors focused online store that I love showcasing in my home. Some of my best-sellers are unique handmade floral prints and picture frames.
What do you love most about living in the country side?

  I'm a real introvert, so I like nothing more than being at home, sitting in the garden with my dogs and overlooking the meadow that backs onto our home. Beautiful!
