As Spring approaches, now is the ideal time to tackle those home renovation projects that may have been put on hold. This year we’re noticing colour, pattern and texture as huge trends in bedroom interiors. Picture a mix of bold prints adorning upholstery, soft furnishings, and wallpaper, complemented by an array of eclectic antique or vintage accessories, as well as cherished family heirlooms. The aim is to achieve a vibrant yet harmonious atmosphere, ultimately creating a cosy bedroom setting, that you’ll look forward to ending the day in.

 This approach to interior design doesn't involve adhering to the newest fads, trends, or even Pantone's colour of the year. Instead, it focuses on crafting a classic and enduring interior that reflects your personal style. We've examined interior designers who skilfully blend colour and patterns in unconventional ways, and we're offering tips on how you can confidently experiment with these concepts in your own home.

Florals, Stripes and Frills

Don't fret about potential clashes; establish your own rules by combining your preferred prints and patterns eclectically. If you find it challenging to choose between florals and stripes, why not go for both! Maintaining an overall colour scheme, such as pinks and reds, can help create a sense of cohesion throughout the bedroom, ensuring these hues are incorporated into soft furnishings and upholstery. Consider opting for a neutral shade for the walls to serve as a blank canvas.

The floor and walls also serve as areas to instil intrigue, with a woven hessian carpet being a classic and timeless choice, while there's a notable resurgence in texturised, woven wallpapers. By extending captivating wallpaper designs to the ceiling, the room gains an added dimension, drawing the eyes upward and creating a visually dynamic environment. This approach not only maximises the use of often-overlooked overhead space but also allows for a seamless integration of colour, pattern, and texture, contributing to a cohesive and enchanting bedroom setting. Whether opting for subtle, soothing patterns to enhance relaxation or vibrant, bold designs for a playful atmosphere, wallpapered ceilings are set to redefine the possibilities of bedroom interior design, especially in those charming attic retreats.
