The undertones in white paint play a crucial role in influencing the overall colour scheme and atmosphere in interior settings. Here's how you can make the most of them in your bedroom.

Hint of Green


Thought to represent purity and good health, green brings a sense of nature indoors and is often utilised in interiors for its soothing effect. Use in a room filled with natural light - or a space that features traditional detailing such as wall panelling to prevent the green from feeling too cold and austere. Think Pink


Gone are the days of Millennial bubblegum pink. In recent years, we've seen a more sophisticated use of the colour that's more off-white putty than flamingo. Think Farrow and Ball's Setting Plaster or Little Green's Peach Blossom. White with a hint of pink will create a welcoming and laid back scheme, with a true sense of warmth. Choose an upholstered bed in an fawn colour such as Canvas, Desert or Butterscotch or go bold with a clashing bespoke fabric choice, such as Romo Linara's Coral.

Subtle Grey


White with a touch of grey tends to offer a crisp, modern feel, which works beautifully in minimalist or industrial-themed spaces. You can add warmth by choosing a mushroom or dove coloured hue to soften the starkness. White with a grey undertone can evoke a soothing, tranquil atmosphere key to encouraging sleep.  Compliment your design scheme with an upholstered bed in a similar grey tone. Optic White


Bright or optic white paint will contain the least amount of coloured pigments which make it a great background colour, drawing more attention to the objects within the room - much like a contemporary galleries' walls work to highlight artwork.  True whites create the  perfect contrast for a strong headboard silhouette (such as our Rose or Dahlia designs) or a bold upholstery colour such as Midnight, Teal or Fuchsia.
