IQ: Spring Mattresses

Pocket Sprung Mattresses nest springs in individual ‘pockets’ for comfort and support.

Our IQ:Spring mattresses make the pocket spring even better. A unique spring design responds to your weight to give progressive support – so, if you and your partner are different sizes, you’ll feel equally comfortable and won’t roll into each other at night. With up to 20,000 individual springs, IQ:Spring mattresses offer the best support imaginable.

All our IQ:Spring mattresses are hand stitched to ensure the highest quality finish and we only use 100% natural materials so air can circulate around your body. Every part of the mattress can be recycled too.

We only sell IQ:Spring mattresses because we believe they provide the best possible comfort and support.

Other Mattress Types

Standard Pocket Sprung Mattresses

Pocket Sprung Mattresses nest springs in individual ‘pockets’ for comfort and support.

Traditional pocket sprung mattresses offer better support than open coil mattresses. They’re good if you’re a different weight to your partner because they offer stability and from edge to edge. Pocket sprung mattresses will also feel more luxurious to lie on.

Pocket sprung mattresses typically come with options around the number of springs you’d like. As with the more advanced IQ:Spring mattress, more springs means more support.

We only sell IQ:Spring mattresses because we believe they provide the best possible comfort and support.

Open Coil Mattresses

The springs in open coil mattress are connected by a wire frame. This makes the mattress quicker and cheaper to produce, but compromises comfort and support. So, if your partner moves in bed you’ll move to: you may meet each other in the middle of the bed every night. Open coil mattress tend to be mass produced to cut costs.

Memory Foam Mattresses or Visco Elastic Mattresses

Often known as Memory Foam, Visco Elastic was originally developed for astronauts and is widely used in hospitals: it’s good for people who need to stay in the same position for hours on end!

With Visco, your body heat softens the material so it shapes to your body. This provides good support, but doesn’t let your body breathe, so warm sleepers can get very hot at night. The material is 100% man made and can’t be recycled. Sadly, Visco Elastic mattresses are not bio degradable - and at the end of their life need to be land filled or incinerated.

Latex Mattresses

Latex mattresses are similar to memory foam mattresses, without the price. Farmed from rubber trees, mattresses made from 100% latex are very durable while the material is also used widely in other mattress types. Unlike memory foam mattresses, Latex mattresses will not react to your body weight or shape, but they can get just as hot at night.

Choose your comfort

Choose your comfort

Invest in your rest. Always choose the best mattress you can afford. More springs = more comfort

A mattress has to grow on you, so we give you 100 nights to get comfortable with yours.
And if you’re not 100% happy after that, we’ll exchange it for another one – no quibbles.

The wool, hemp, cotton and flax fillings we use are grown down the road. Then they’re harvested and blended into our hand-made mattresses, so you get the most natural, environmentally-friendly night’s sleep possible.

Traditional springs aren’t up to the job. So we invented our own; the patented IQ spring. Support is delivered just where and when you need it, so even if you and your partner are very different sizes you’ll experience the same level of comfort.
